Distance Relays Faults on transmission lines are related to increasing of current and decreasing of voltage that yields decreasing the worth of Z. The thought of distance relays are supported the actual fact that:
  • On traditional condition, the worth of Z is incredibly high therefore the distance relay doesn't operate.
  • On fault condition, the worth of Z is diminished and distance relay can operate.
